By now I’m sure you’ve guessed my name, if not, it’s Alex (hi). I am a web designer and programmer. While born in the west, I am now based out of Atlanta, Georgia. I am recently married to my beautiful wife, Lisa with three dogs that she believes are our children.
I’ve been in this gig for roughly 15 years when I built my first website on an ancient 486 based computer. While a website full of blinking animated icons may have satisfied the needs of other pre-teen adolescence, it only fueled my hunger for bigger and better things. Immediately I moved on to learning many different programming languages, starting with C and Perl. Then to PHP, Javascript, and various other programming and scripting languages.
Over time I realized that my main strength and enjoyment of the development process was building the User Interface. To me, the UI mattered as much as the code behind it. I learned to love the way that data could be displayed in different ways, both visually pleasing and in ways that were quite effective. Luckily for me, this is when new advances and languages were getting a foot-hold in the industry, opening new doors and ushering in a new age of the web. So began my real career as a Web Developer.
While I have worked for various clients, hired and worked for design agencies, I find that freelancing provides me with the freedom I need to keep exploring this field. It gives me the opportunity to work on many different projects and keeps me advancing, always trying to out-do myself. So here I am 15 years later, back where I started, with maybe a little bit more experience and a much faster computer. I am always looking for new projects to work on so please take a look at my portfolio and maybe give me a shout.
